When we wrote our book, we surveyed men about their experiences with prostate play and there were three concerns that came up over and over:
- Does it hurt?
- Does it get messy?
- Do men really like this?
Many of the men who had been doing prostate play for years said that they had worried about one or more of these issues when they got started. We’re here to tell you that you don’t need to let these questions hold you back.
It doesn’t take much to make prostate stimulation and anal penetration enjoyable. For some guys, it’s a matter of getting the information they need. For others, it takes some practice to get used to the sensations and figure out which techniques work for them. And just like any kind of new sexual experience, anxiety can short circuit the pleasure, so sometimes, it’s a matter of seeing for yourself that it’s not as scary as you thought.
Partners can also have their own fears about trying something new. Since “sex” usually means intercourse for a lot of people, doing something different can feel strange. And although many folks get turned on by being on the other side of penetration, it can also bring up some challenging feelings.
We have lots of useful tips and suggestions for how to enjoy prostate play without letting these kinds of things get in the way of your fun. Check out these pages to get started.
